Who Are We
GO Girls launched in March 2018. Supported by our patron Helen Lederer. Our aims are to help support women with gynaecological cancers, raise awareness of these diseases and campaign for earlier diagnostics and improved treatments.
GO Girls want to ensure all women with gynaecological cancers receive the support they truly deserve on what is often a lonely and difficult journey. Survival rates still very low, particularly for those with ovarian cancers.
In the last 3 years our membership has grown via our online support group, and we continue to grow daily as more women recognise the support we give. We have raised £50,000 to fund a consulting room at Dorset County Hospital – our legacy to the women in the South West where GO Girls began.
Support is vital to help women undergoing treatment, women at the end of treatment and those women whose survival is limited.
In the busyness of our everyday lives, often basic values of humanity, mutual support and connection can be forgotten – but we offer an online support group where you can share your feelings with others and where we can support you with our unique blend of advice, support and virtual hugs.
The GO Girls are determined to raise the profile of gynaecological cancers and we are campaigning very hard to do this.
We will never forget that what women tell us they want most is support. We want to ensure we are here for all women, their family and friends. If you feel able to support our work, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
