Established in 2000, the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) has grown to become Australia’s leading independent body dedicated to funding national ovarian cancer research.
We demonstrate leadership in the ovarian cancer space through:
- prioritising research that will have the biggest impact for the most women
- collaborating with ovarian cancer experts to identify and pursue the most promising projects
- embracing a dual focus on both the present (reducing the lethal threat for women today) and the future (striving for complete eradication of ovarian cancer)

We take great pride in being not only a raiser of funds and a director of research, but also a powerful voice in our community.
Our pioneering advocacy around the importance of early detection has now been endorsed by the Federal Minister for Health and included in the National Women’s Health Strategy 2020–2030. The strategy included the allocation of $20 million for ovarian cancer research, to be awarded from 2019-20 to 2022-23 via the new Medical Research Future Fund. We will continue to pursue better outcomes for the thousands of women and their families impacted by an ovarian cancer diagnosis.
